AUTHOR’S GUIDELINES
The Sahel Journal of Geography, Environment and Development (SJGED) accepts and publishes original and high-quality theoretical and empirical research papers, critical reviews and short communications from interested scholars, academics, professionals and practitioners for review and possible publication after satisfactorily meeting the guidelines.
EDITORIAL REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE
The criteria for acceptance of all papers are clarity, technical quality, depth, and originality of the research, as well as its significance to the readership in the aforementioned focal areas of the journal. The journal uses a double-blind review system. The submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least 2 (two) expert reviewers from our peer-reviewers team. The submitted papers must be free from plagiarism contents. Final acceptance or rejection rests with the Editorial Board—the Editors and the Publisher reserve the right to modify typescripts to ensure clarity. Manuscripts requiring corrections will be returned to the author(s).
GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION
The following instructions should be adhered to while preparing manuscripts:Manuscripts should be written in good English, typed in MS Word document, on an A4 sheet using Time New Roman, font size 12 and single-spacing. The work should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The article should not exceed 15 pages, including abstract, references and appendices. Manuscripts should be presented in the following order:
TitleThe paper must begin with the title and it should not be more than 15 words. Followed by the name and affiliation of the author and co-authors, e-mail address and phone contact of the corresponding author.
AbstractAn abstract should be structured between 200 to 250 words. It should precisely state the problem of the study in terms of identification of the research gap, aim and objectives, the main techniques employed, major findings and conclusion.
Structure of the ArticlesThe structure of the article should be similar or identical to the following
Introduction: This section should contain a clear background of the subject matter, research problem, aim and objectives.
Materials and Methods: Description of the study area, research tools and procedures for data collection, analysis, and interpretations should be clearly and precisely stated. All methods used should be clear and easy to replicate.
Results and Discussions: The research findings should be presented and discussed by the author(s). All descriptions should be clear and unambiguous.
Conclusion: This should contain a summary of the work and findings. It should not include a repetition of the result and discussion.
Acknowledgement: If necessary, this should be as brief as possible.
References: Referencing should comply with the American Psychological Association (APA) style.

- Only manuscript prepared in MS Word Document will be accepted for assessment.
- Under the copy right condition of the SJGED, articles are submitted with the understanding that they have not been previously published or are presently under consideration for publication elsewhere and if accepted by SJGED will not be published elsewhere without the consent of the Editors.
- All accepted manuscripts undergo language editing. Authors are at liberty to take their manuscripts to professional proof readers. However, if very extensive English corrections must be made by the Editorial Office an additional fee will be charged to authors.

The authors assign to "Sahel Journal of Geography, Environment, and Development (SJGED)" all copyright in and to the contribution for the full term of copyright and any extensions or renewals of that term, including but not limited to the right to publish, republish, transmit, sell, distribute, and otherwise use the contribution and the material contained therein in electronic and print editions of the Journal and derivative works, in all languages and media.RETAINED RIGHTS:
Despite the foregoing, the authors retain all proprietary rights, other than copyright, in any process, procedure, or article of manufacture described in the contribution, as well as the right to make oral presentations of material from the contribution.
